Madden NFL 23 Review: More Good Changes

Madden NFL 23 is now live and available to play as fans get to use their favorite players and teams to dominate the NFL landscape. But with every release comes the question: what are more good changes in this years edition? Here is the good line with Madden 23.

Notable Visual Improvements

Madden 23 doesnt take a significant leap in visual fidelity compared to Madden 22. But Players in Madden 23 look better than they ever have, including faces and body types. The visual upgrade was a surprise as few sports games are doing much to move the needle in the way of graphics these days. So Madden 23 is a gorgeous-looking football game from a player model and overall sports-setting standpoint.

The Franchise Mode Has Been Vastly Improved

The biggest improvement across the board appears to be in the franchise mode, like the free agency tag, Motivation, Draft Logic, and more! These legit elements here should influence other sports video game series. There are definitely some things still missing in Madden 23s franchise mode, but the feature has taken a monumental leap.

The Passing Game is Improved

In Madden 23, one of the biggest changes to the game is Skill-Based Passing. It is designed to give players much more control over every pass they throw by combining a new passing meter to dictate the power and trajectory of their passes and a new stick control for pinpoint precision. With Skill-Based Passing, players can now lead receivers open and place the ball where only they can get it. This revolution will likely not be apparent immediately, but give it a few quarters or even a few games, and we think youll agree that theres no going back.

Face of the Franchise Has Taken a Positive Step

Madden 23 Face of the Franchise is under a lot of pressure to perform, but now a flurry of Career Mode improvements is available to help. Like New Position: Cornerback, Player-Locked, and More flexibility, etc, are the right decision to make for the long-term health of this mode. It is pretty barebones this year, but its in a good place for a restart with the true player-lock restriction added to the mode.

MUT Champions Spices Up Ultimate Team

MUT isnt adding a huge feature this year, but it didnt need one to make an improvement, because it was already the most engaging part of the game. The biggest change is the replacement of the Weekend League with MUT 23 Champions. This new format gives you access to competition throughout the entire week. Users are still capped at 25 games per week, but MUT Champions will still offer the biggest rewards, such as more mut 23 coins and better player cards!
