Both games draw inspiration from the fantasy world of RuneScape

With the "growing team " and "improved tools", Jagex says it will not be merely focused on sellers of gold and other resources via RWT but also buyers OSRS Gold For Sale. The intention is to stem the demand as well as supply.

Jagex claims it will have to send "messages to players we've identified as engaging within"RWT" within "the next few hours". "For anyone who was involved, we'd like to emphasize that this is your single all-encompassing warning" said the statement.

Other measures that the developer might look at as punishment for RWT activity are set to include wealth removal , which is basically eliminating gains that were earned illegally from accounts of players at a server level - and possible bans.

RuneScape's PvP feature, known as"the Duel Arena, will also be subject to more strict rules. Jagex says the feature "has been a flashpoint in this behavior that is harmful", and that 38 percent of the bans issued for RWT games to date stem from this particular aspect which the players play. Jagex says this is equivalent in "thousands of bans per month".

As a result, the developer appears to be considering the nuclear option, and says "we're looking in the long-term to phase in the Duel Arena out of RuneScape entirely." However, until then the game will take "some small-scale measures" to reduce PvP "until our development teams are able to deliver a major update that fully substitutes for the Duel Arena next year."

The rules will have a limit for the quantity of GP which is also known as gold points and players will be able to stake a match inside the Duel Arena. Players can place bets "no over 50m GP for each duel". Additional measures aren't detailed as yet.

Jagex states that "a brand-new experience that will become part of an ongoingrs2007 gold Elder God Wars storyline" will replace Duel Arena in the early 2022 timeframe But no other details have been released yet.
