The thing he did was due to his decent runecrafting level was to buy essense (back the time when there was a single type for all runes) craft nature runes in bulk (by 1,000 at a time, usually) then cut his own yews 2007 RS Accounts, pick his flax, make his bowstrings and then make the bows he makes himself. He took the same approach I would have/did.
Although it isn't the most efficient in regards to time, it gives us the opportunity to earn the most profit and make us self-sufficient. Sometimes, we even invented our own essences. It was slow but it grew larger and, at times, it even distracted him (definitely was distracting me lol).).
So if your looking for profits, then doing it yourself is the best way. however, if ur looking to either make a profit or spend a little, buy some of the items, but be sure to calculate to make sure you break even, you dont want to end up in the negative when you're finished.
