WoW 9.1 Brings More Pets for Everyone, How to Get Them

Even if the WoW developers are not introducing a new pet battle dungeon in the online role-playing game with patch 9.1, there is still enough reason for pet fans to be happy. Because the limit on the maximum number of pets you can collect in the game is finally history with the update - and there are also 44 new pets that you can find in various locations in the Shadowlands. In this guide we summarize for you where you can get these pets.

WoW Patch 9.1 Brings More Pets for Everyone

As mentioned, you can collect a total of 44 new pets from various sources with Patch 9.1. While you can catch some pets in the wild in Korthia, there are others as loot from bosses, quest rewards, vendors, or reputation rewards. For three pets we currently don't know exactly which source they come from - we will update this article accordingly as soon as we have this information.

Pets from Korthia and the Maw

Most of the new pets come from the Maw and Korthia, including the following:

Gnash Tooth: Loot from the rare enemy Xyraxz in Korthia (coordinates still unknown)
Rascal: Reward for the achievement Becoming Foxy in the Throat (guide see below)
Energetic Aether Wyrm: Loot from the Aether Wyrm Cage Treasure Chest during a Night Fa attack in the Maw
Korthian specimen: Loot from the rare enemy Zelnithop in Korthia (coordinates still unknown)
Sinfall Screechers: Loot from the Sinfall Screechers cage treasure chest during a Kyrian attack in the Maw
Mampfi: Reward of the daily quest "Character Slimes" or "Local Reagents" in Korthia
Food: Reward from the Undying Army's War Chest from a Pact attack by the Necrolords
Gripping gauntlet: Prey from enemies in the gullet
Golden Eye: Loot from the enemy Helbound Soulseeker in the Maw (coordinates still unknown)
Minimon: Assembled from five items that you can find in the Maw during an attack by the Necrolords
Immortal Spike: Prey from the rare enemy Gralebboih in the Maw (coordinates still unknown)
Copperback Ether Wyrm: Reward from the Ascended War Chest from a Kyrian pact attack
Invasive Brummer: Wild Hunt War Chest reward from a Night Fae Pact attack

Guide to the pet rascal

While you can get most of the above pets simply as prey from rare enemies or as a reward for quests and from chests, you have to put a bit more effort into the little fox rascal. You will probably (!) Get this pet as follows:

You will receive the pet as a reward for the achievement "Becoming foxy", which is related to the Pact attacks on the Maw and which you also need for the meta-achievement "On the Offensive".
The goal is to find rascal when he's run away.
As soon as you have completed the introductory quests of patch 9.1 and unlocked the pact attacks, you can find the NPC Orator Kloe near the Oribos portal stone during attacks by the Kyrians on the Maw (at coordinates 42/44).
Kloe informs you that one of her Vulpin has disappeared and asks you to look for him.
You then get the "Sharp Eyed" buff, which lasts for an hour. You can see small footprints on the floor with this buff. Follow the footprints to find Rascal. Click on him to make him follow you.
You have to repeat the whole thing three times according to the current PTR status. Then the success is considered complete and you get the pet.
Measured against the rotation of the pact attacks on the Maw, you have to plan a total of about four weeks before you can incorporate rascal into your collection.

Pets from the Wild

The following pets can be obtained in Korthia and the Maw by challenging and capturing them in the wild:

Devourer (Korthia)
