- Schedule your appointment and stick to it:
Your state may have certain requirements for registering and prescribing your dosage. Find out what's applicable in your state and schedule an appointment.
- Accept whatever vaccine is available:
Avoid "vaccine shopping" and take whatever vaccine you are offered. You may have a preconceived notion that one vaccine is better than another, but in reality, all the vaccines being used are helping us end this pandemic.
- Health Conditions and Medications:
The advisory is given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare indicates the eligibility or contraindications/ health conditions for the use of the vaccine.
- Wear a Mask or Face Cover at the Time of Vaccination:
Your vaccine provider will require you to wear a mask. Masks are still proven to slow the spread of COVID-19 viral particles, and you'll be sitting relatively close to people at vaccine centers.
- Wait 30 Minutes at the Clinic:
Most vaccine providers will require you to wait in the facility for 30 minutes after getting vaccinated to see any immediate and serious side effects. Even if you like, please wait!
- Wear a short-sleeved shirt/loose blouse to make it easier:
The shot goes into your shoulder, so wear loose, short-sleeved clothing to make it easier for the nurses or doctors to take you and your comfort as well.
- Reschedule If You Know the Risks or Symptoms
To quarantine and self-isolate if you are about to receive the vaccine but start showing symptoms or have been informed that you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 Follow current state guidelines and reschedule your appointment.
