Yep plenty ofRuneScape gold steam games have their launchers but from what I've seen they still handle upgrades via steam rather than via the launcher itself. Meaning every week they would be pushing updates through steam as well as through Apple, android and the present desktop client. Yeah that on its own is not a deal breaker but all these little things accumulate very fast to make a simple proposal"put match on steam" into a fairly significant project with plenty of possible drawbacks.
Valve and ohh want you to add steam wallet instead even in link stores. And any in RuneScape game purchases need to be secured so that a participant accessing through steam can pay via steam. Basically you can not blame them but it is filled with negatives from jagex's view. You also have the update process generally, I don't know what type of lead time steam want with updates being pushed and if this would work with how often RS is upgraded. Many mmos have their own launcher, and the launcher is only updated by steam updates. FF14 comes to mind as a example. The launcher is kept by steam up the launcher stains RuneScape, entirely outside of steam.
How do you understand this? Certainly you must not be so delusional to believe your armchair knowledge is exceptional to Jagex, a firm with hundreds of employees who would have considered the prospect of launching on Steam + done a extensive cost-profit analysis. This is a business that's gaining record profits while using a dwindling player base (RS3). Being a company does not mean you're suddenly god when it comes to those choices. They did not even consider OSRS until gamers began petitioning and complaining about it, and that was be a huge success.
I guess they must've just not realized it was even though people were begging for it. Sure, they don't always know best. However, as it stands, the arguments for launch RS3 on Steam supplied are not and laughable even remotely legitimate. My point isn't Jagex is all-knowing and could be counted on to make the proper decisions, that. It's without considering the full picture, that a great deal of players create suggestions.
RuneScape moving to upgrades
Obviously nearly all the comments will be"haven't they done that" but lets really have a conversation. They are officially changing the anticipation from each Monday having something to it really only being a month. Seems like they are going for the end of the month as a release point for all their upgrades. They have done this in the past, but its nice to know that updates are coming at the close of the month and then they use the month to construct hype for that upgrade, kind of like the way they announced Desperate Measures 20 days beforebuy OSRS gold its launch.
