I was convinced that Nintendo would know the expectations

No matterAnimal Crossing Bells if you agree or not, Sakurai clearly didn't feel as though he would pull off that balance in Brawl and Smash 4 together with Ridley, but was completely aware of his importance (hence his standing a boss).Their Direct announcements are yawnworthy. Switch is SUCH a cool system but it feels underutilized due to their important IP. Tons of small indie games and quirky Japanese ports. Remakes of matches no one asked for, without a remakes of those people are asking for. They just seem completely deaf to their fanbase, and not just that, HOSTILE to their fanbase in many ways (shutting down fan mods of matches, DMCAing youtubers, the crush controversy, etc ).

It is just hard to a lot of individuals to see among their favorite sport businesses languish like this, myself included. It feels like you are cheated purchasing this system and hardly any significant franchise/AAA names are published on it.

I concur. I wonder why this is happening. Is it Iwata dying? Reggie leaving? Or only an overall change in company attitude? It is really disappointing. I adore their IPs and quirkiness. I used to love the way they appeared to care more about creating entertaining games rather than only cash. I am hoping it comes back. .

Entirely agree. I was convinced that Nintendo would know the expectations that would include announcing a 50 minute general direct instead of using the"mini" qualifier or even just doing several of these statements via twitter like they've been doing for the last year. They sincerely seem to believe that direct was worth the entire year + wait and we still haven't gotten any info on major franchises such as you mentioned, and finally obtained a 2022 date to get a sequel to a game which really does not need one. Splatoon 2 felt like a growth than worthy of becoming a full fledged sequel, however, figured they'd do what they do with Smash and kart and launch one per console, but today they're just giving us a different one that most probably won't be all that differentanimal crossing buy bells online and probably would have better been served as a growth than a full online sequel. Meanwhile no Metroid news. Not even a remaster announcement that people have been asserting was arriving for like 3 years now I think.
