There is no doubt that this notion of "equality for all" benefits me, an Asian female (refer to the photo above) pursuing a degree in engineering. Sure, I agree that more women should be encouraged to enter the STEM fields and be able to pursue their passion without discrimination, but not at the expense of discrimination against men and of true equality. Why should I be given priority over a male with identical qualifications? Or even a male with surpassing qualifications?
The teen summer reading game is for teens, aged 13 to 18, to inspire them to read a variety of genres and materials this summer. For every book read and submitted to the library teens will be entered into our weekly draws for gift cards and library swag. We will also be having a grand prize draw at the end of the summer, where every participant in the teen SRG will be entered to win. This year our reading challenge is a book bingo, where teens will have even more chances to win if they read books that match any of our shipwrecked themed categories. Amazon is piling on the [negative] hits today, and the latest comes to those that have enjoyed ad free Twitch streaming courtesy of their Prime membership. Amazon is the parent company of Twitch, but it was the latter that announced the news today via a blog post. The Twitch team said that it has "re evaluated some of the existing Twitch Prime benefits" and has concluded that ad free viewing will end for Twitch Prime starting on September 14th. Those who subscribe to Amazon Prime on a monthly basis will lose the ad free benefits on October 15th. So why the change of heart after two years of ad free bliss for those using Twitch Prime? Well, it all comes down to ad revenue and making the platform.
