Certain members of Diablo IV's classes, though not new in terms of technology aren't new to the game for quite some time D2R ladder items. Diablo Immortal is slated to have new classes coming in as update free, and players have already seemingly datamined one possibility of a franchise-first character, known as the Blood Knight.
Diablo IV is scheduled to be released in 2023 following the demise of the game's prior director of the game in 2021. which came in the wake of several litigations and investigations related to the unsubstantiated culture of sexual discrimination and harassment in Activision Blizzard. Once Diablo IV does release, it will allow cross-play and cross-progression across consoles and PC.
This is the first official confirmation that Diablo IV will come with an in-game shop and microtransactions of some kind, while it also confirms that Blizzard's upcoming entry in the RPG franchise will take an approach that is live-service and seasonal.
